Biography
I was trained as an art historian and did not begin painting until I moved to West Marin. The scenery is so rich with the constantly changing light created by our coastal fog, that very special glow as the sunshine hits the waters of Tomales Bay and reflects the surrounding hills, and the ever present and changing image of Black Mountain that I was inspired to begin painting. My first paintings were done in acrylic but I now paint exclusively in oil. I paint with very thin paint, applied in many, many layers...often with glazing to create the final "atmospheric glow".
